W/Mo Solo 'Darksong' Build
Ok, this is the first time i've posted a build. So be nice
I'm posting from work so some of the details may be slightly off, I can correct if need be later.
Location and Info
The Darksong drops from Jishol Darksong in Resplendant Makuun. South exit of Honur Hill.
He is classed as a 'Kobalt'. He is accompanied by 3 (Maybe 4) Warrior Kobalts and 1 Paragon Kobalt, Darksong is a Paragon. Not sure what skills they carry but the only concern is that warriors can knock you down and the Paragon's have a skill which catches you on fire for a few seconds.
Setup
Skills:
Riposte
Deadly Riposte
Gladiator's Defence {E}
Bonetti's Defence
x
Healing Breeze
Live Vicariously
Mending
Stats:
Tactics: 14 (12 + 1 + 1)
Swordsmanship: 9 (8 + 1) (9 or whatever req your sword is)
Healing: 10
Strength: Whatevers left 4 Maybe?
Equipment:
Using Knight's Armor all around except Ascalon Helm for +1 Tactics.
Malinon's Shield and Victo's Blade
(Question: Is the 3/-1 on Victo's worth more or less than the +1 Regen lost from mending?)
Runes:
Sup. Absorbtian Rune
Major Vigour
Minor Tactics
Minor Strength
Minor Swordsmanship
How to kill
When you first exit cast Mending, recharge energy then cast Live Vicariously. Down the hill to the right of the Res Portal you will see Darksong and his group. Agro them all, throw up Glads and start whacking away. Use Riposte whenever it's charged. Use Bonetti's as needed and H-Breeze if needed. The War's will be dispatched quite quickly using Glads. When it's down to the Paragon it gets quite annoying as they can heal fairly quickly. With practice you can time when to fire Riposte/D.Riposte so the minion kobalt will take the damage. When last minion is dead Darksong can be dealt with fairly quickly using both Riposte skills.
After they're dead there is a group of 3 Kobalts under the fort just off to the right. You may want to kill them too as I have seen a chest there a couple of times.
Drops
If you're lucky, Darksong will drop 'The Darksong', if not he may drop nothing, money, or 1-3 other items (Including items from below list).
Other drops that i've seen from this group so far are: Half-Digested Armor sometimes with various Minor/Major Runes and Inscriptions. Max Purple Weps/Shields sometimes with max mods. 80-100ish gold, Kobalt Talons (Collector Item) or nothing.
Comments and constructive criticism welcome
'The Darksong' Weapon Stats:
Piercing Dmg: 14-27 (Requires 9 Spear Mastery)
Damage + 15% (while health is above 50%)
Lenghten Bleeding duration on foes by 33% (Stacking)
Health +30
Edit: Spelling

Paragon, not Paragorn.
And maybe a furious sword if you are concerned about mending.

Will the grenth's build let you take the whole pack solo, or just nix darky once the henchies have killed his mob for you?
I use a W/Me with the two visage skills. That and and some physical damage reduction makes Darksong and his gang into a bunch of purring kittens. Takes a little while to grind darky himself down, though.

Grenth's is for soloing the boss, not their mobs
For several reasons. Too much dmg from alot of groups is one, but probably not a problem here, the other is the mobs taking your Riposte dmg instead fo the boss, making it a long process.

yes it does if u have the build set right on which i have, a few melee's on ur back dosent really matter aslong u can handle em, henchie control imo is just boring...makes things to easy but then again...handy for the torment bosses.

Ide use the Unlimited Glad's build, which is W/E skills are: Riposte, D.Riposte, Bonetti's, Glads Def, Healing Signet, Dolyak, Whirlwind or tenai's wind, "On your Knees"
When Glads starts blinking use tenai's wind to knock enemies over then use "On your Knees" to reset Glads.
I would only take one piece of knights armor as the -3 or whatever it is reduction in damage is not stacking so only one is needed. Glads is good for more energy or Legionnaires for extra armor since you will always be in stance. Also, Ide max out Tactics with a Sup Tactics rune.
You should take out the Paragon Kobalt first with just your sword. The Glads, Ripostes skill combo will kill warriors quickly. Or yo could just attack the Boss the others will attack u and die. Only the paragon kobalt should remain alive.
If u need to heal do so while in Glads, or with Bonettis.
This build works well with mainly melee mobs, like this so should work I will try to test it out when I have a chance.
